Page 2: Those Crazy Kids on the Town!

The gang plays whirlyball!
After the party at the hotel, a group of us went down to the depths of Broward County, Florida to play "Whirlyball." What is whirlyball, you may be asking? Well, it's a combination between basketball, lacrosse (or Jai Alai as they say in SoFla) and bumper cars -- really! You have teams of 6 players a piece, and the object is to "scoop" a ball and pass it between players on your team and score a "basket".

Apparently, this is quite the game in Southern Florida, so Kyra and her friends fared quite well. Mike and his northern buddies, on the other hand, didn't do as well.

Anyow, this picture features (clockwie, from front right) Joseph, Eric, Kyra, Ari, Stacey, Steffi, Jason, Justin, Anne (the one whose head is out of the picture) and Mike. You can click here to see a more detailed look of who's who.

Mike passes the whilyball!Mike gets the ball! He scoops it! He tries to pass it to his teammates! Unfortunately, he's blocked by Kyra, who has all of the skill and experience. She intercepts it (as usual) and heads downfield to score a point (as usual).

Mike and Kyra - the collision of LOVE Another fun part of whirlyball is the amount of colliding you can do! Imagine that little electric football game they had in the '70s with that vibrating board and all of the pieces which simply went around in circles, bumping and crashing into each other. That's similar to what this is like. Here you see Mike and Kyra right before a collision. BOOM! What a way to block...

Mike passes the whilyball! The ball is intercepted by Anne, who gets it away from Mike and his team! The audience cheers! The players shout! Mike looks absent-mindedly at all of the action...

Ari, Glenn and Justin Here we have Ari, Glenn and Justin hanging around after the game in the lovely snack bar area. Our friend Dan was not pictured -- simply because he was taking this time to find out how much opening a franchise would cost if he were to open it in the DC area. The price: somewhere between $400,000 and $600,000. Better start saving now...

Glenn and Stacey and Denny'sAfter whirlyball, we all went over to Denny's and took more exciting pictures! here's one of Glenn and Stacey.

Jason and Lis and Denny's Jason and Lis were at Denny's as well. They were all schmoopy. That's them.

Daniel A. Turner's Magical Tower of Condiments!Dan, innovative and creative as usual, builds a tower out of whatever he finds on the Denny's table -- including a bowls, silverware, napkins, little containers of half-and-half, and two Denny's hostesses.

Steffi showing off what she eats If you look very closely, you can see that Steffi is showing off a mouthful of food (hash browns, we think). Her proud husband, Ari (on her right, our left) laughs along. Joseph (her left, our right) looks a tad shocked...

Mike's weird close-up... and Mike is not amused.
